Sure some of you when are buying or ordering a beer doubt between with or without alcohol. By your head will surely pass these thoughts quickly: "if i am ordering one without alcohol I will avoid the calories of alcohol, but with alcohol tastes so good ... ". After making a bibliographic search I believe that the doubt is going to be cleared. According to various authors, moderate beer consumption improves bone density.

The beer is an alcoholic drink, although low-grade, which also has flavones and silicon; therefore, for these mechanisms, be alcoholic beverage and have flavones, both at the level of phytoestrogen, as stimulating the secretion of calcitonin, it may be useful by stimulating bone formation and/or inhibiting the loss postmenopausal bone mass, both of these circumstances have broad support bibliographic that show that flavones, calcitonin, and silicon inhibit bone resorption and calcitonin not only inhibits bone resorption, but that also stimulates the formation.

Here I leave the most relevant conclusions of some articles that I readed:

"The positive relation between intake of alcohol and BMD in men and postmenopausal women, the reproducibility of these effects across the different bone sites, and the consistency of these findings with other published studies of total alcohol intake suggest that alcohol intake, particularly from beer and wine, may protect bone health"

"Mounting epidemiological evidence indicates an association between the moderate ingestion of alcoholic beverages and higher bone mineral density (v. abstainers)"

"This study suggests that oestrogen status is important for Si metabolism in bone health. Further work is required to elucidate the mechanism"

You know that drinking beer and wine is good for your health, but as always, with moderation
